Why Is Ice Age 2: The Meltdown Rated PG?
Cartoon violence is a recurring element in this film. While attempting to get his hands on an acorn, a prehistoric squirrel gets his tongue stuck on a glacier, falls from a cliff, and is stuck underwater. Amongst other mishaps, piranhas and an angry vulture also attack him. Manny and his companions face perilous situations when the dam threatens to break and flood the valley. On their journey to higher ground they are attacked by sea creatures, surrounded by hungry vultures, hit with rocks and tree trunks, and threatened by exploding geysers. When Manny meets Ellie, their conversation includes some mild sexual innuendo. The script also contains some brief language concerns and scenes of bathroom humor.
