Why is Getaway rated PG-13?
Official MPAA Rating: Getaway is rated PG-13 for for intense action, violence and mayhem throughout, some rude gestures, and language.
Violence: Frequent scenes depict dangerous and illegal driving. A car drives on public sidewalks and through parks putting countless people at risk and destroying property. Numberless other vehicles and police cars are seen crashing into each other—injuries and deaths are implied. Characters shoot at security guards, hitting (and presumably killing) them. Other characters shoot at one another. A woman is kidnapped by men (the abduction is shown in a black and white flashback) and briefly portrayed as being physically assaulted and forced to appear on a camera to beg for her release. A bloody wound seen. A character breaks into a control room at a power plant and hacks into a computer, causing the plant to (unrealistically) explode and cut power to a city.
Sexual Content: None noted.
Language: A single sexual finger gesture is shown. Frequent scatological expletives and other infrequent profanity, cursing, and vulgar expressions are used.
Alcohol / Drug Use: A man is seen sipping a martini in various scenes.
