Why Is Date Movie Rated PG-13?
Determined to create humor through offensive remarks and images, Date Movie stretches the PG-13 rating to fit its many sexual remarks and crude sight gags, which are far too numerous to detail. One of the more prominent is an ongoing scenario between an elderly woman and a cat she appears to be having a sexual relationship with (we see them kissing and smoking cigarettes together). Offensive violence (all of which is supposed to be funny) includes a homeless drunken man who is beat up by a man and woman, a toddler who is thrown from a motorhome while in his car seat, and a man who uses a bat to knock a passing motorcyclist from his bike. Periodic mild and moderate profanities are included, as is the aforementioned smoking.
