Why Is Becoming Jane Rated PG?
While content is limited, this film was re-edited to gain a PG rating from the MPAA (it was originally rated PG-13). Content includes a skinny-dipping scene in which two males are seen from behind, stripping off their clothes and jumping into the water. A man reads a sensual text (which speaks of a woman’s breasts), after which he implies his female listener needs to be more sexually experienced. We also see the book’s illustration, which depicts a man dragging a woman who is partially undressed. A fight between men upon whom wagers are placed results in a bloodied face. Language is limited to one mild profanity and one term of deity.
