Why Is The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford Rated R?
Long and ponderous, this film likely won’t appeal to young audiences unless they are particularly interested in the subject or era. It also contains many moments of gun violence, with victims shot at close range (details and blood are shown). Other language includes infrequent mild and moderate profanities, a couple of uses of Christian deity as expletives, and crude anatomical terms. Some characters smoke in this period drama.
