The outbreak of WWII forces a couple of mountain climbers in the same wilderness area to wander around for Seven Years In Tibet. During the same time period, two Jewish brothers escape into the Belarussian forests where they attempt to survive and help others who join them there, in the movie Defiance. A young boy escapes a consecration camp and tries to make his way across Europe in I Am David.
