Before taking on the role of Caroline, Kate Hudson played a single, career woman who is left with the responsibility of caring for her nieces and nephew when her sister unexpectedly dies in the film Raising Helen. Joy Bryant plays the friend of an aspiring dancer in the hip-hop movie Honey.
