Another small crew of misfits in a rust-bucket spaceship take on the galactic alliance in the movie Star Wars: A New Hope. A group forced to flee the earth and find a new home in outer space is the premise for the animated film, Titan A.E.

See Serenity’s universe in either wide or full screen, and catch the DVD extras. These include an introduction and commentary by writer/director Joss Whedon, deleted scenes, outtakes, and a crash course on the original series with the featurettes: Future History: The Story of Earth That Was, What’s in a Firefly, and Re-Lighting the Firefly. Audio tracks are available in English (Dolby Digital 5.1) and French (Dolby Digital 5.1), with subtitles in English, Spanish and French.

Rod Gustafson has worked in various media industries since 1977. He founded Parent Previews in 1993, and today continues to write and broadcast the reviews in newspapers, on radio and (of course) on the Internet. He currently serves as the President of the Alberta Association for Media Awareness, a provincial non-profit society. He also authors a regular column for
