Although Sylvester Stallone has played numerous movie characters, his best-known role may be that of an underachieving boxer who gets his chance at the championship in Rocky. In one of his earliest cinema appearances, Marlon Brando plays a has-been fighter who gets caught up in the mob world in the 1954 film On the Waterfront.

Treating this release with all the pomp and circumstance behooving a Best Picture Academy Award winner, Warner Home Video presents Million Dollar Baby in a 2 disc (either wide or full screen) or 3-disc version. Both DVD editions include the bonus materials: James Lipton Takes on Three (a 25-minute roundtable with Clint Eastwood, Hilary Swank, Morgan Freeman, and moderator James Lipton), Born to Fight (an examination of the film’s parallels to real-life boxer Lucia Rijker), and Producers’ Round 15 (a behind the scenes look). Audio tracks are provided in English (Dolby Digital 5.1) and French (Dolby Digital 5.1), with subtitles in English, Spanish, and French. Paying the extra bucks for the additional disc buys the movie’s soundtrack CD featuring music by Clint Eastwood, with Lenny Niehaus orchestrating and conducting.
