Still shot from the movie: Mamma Mia!.

Mamma Mia!

It is traditional for a bride to be given away by her father, but that is a problematic custom for Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) because she doesn't know her Dad's identity. Nor will her mother (Meryl Streep) confess. Wanting to find out, the young woman invites three of her Mom's old boyfriends (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgaard) to the wedding, hoping one of them may be the right man. This movie is based on a Broadway musical that features songs from the 70's disco sensation ABBA. Get the movie review and more. »

Meryl Streep’s other musical roles in film include playing one member of a sisterly duet in A Prairie Home Companion and a violin teacher for inner-city children in Music of the Heart (a part for which she learned to play the violin). Pierce Brosnan lends his musical and acting talents to the story of a young father struggling to get his children back in Evelyn.

Actor Colin Firth also stars in another script about a daughter is looking for her dad, in the movie What a Girl Wants.
