Fast Tony, the smooth-talking salesman in Ice Age: The Meltdown, isn’t the only character to predict impending danger. In Chicken Little, a young hatchling sets off the town’s alarm bell when he fears the sky is falling. In addition to voicing Diego, the saber-tooth tiger, Denis Leary lends his vocal talents to Francis in A Bug’s Life.
The other two movies in this franchise are Ice Age and Ice Age: The Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
Home Video Extra Features
If your kids are having a Meltdown waiting for a chance to see Ice Age 2 again, then they are sure to give this DVD release a warm reception. But viewing the film is just the tip of the iceberg because there are a ton of other extra features as well. These include a commentary by director Carlos Saldanha, producer Lori Forte and the production team, a behind-the-scenes look at the animation process, an introduction to new characters and the marketing of the movie. There are also some bonus shorts (No Time for Nuts, Crash & Eddie Stunts, and Lost Historical Films on the Ice Age Period), a featurette (Silly Sid & John Leguizamoa), outtakes (Crash and Eddie Blooper), trailers and some cross-promotional trailers. Gamers will find some entertainment and web links for them too, and the party crowd can dance to the sloth sing-along. Audio tracks are available in Dolby Digital 5.1 (English) and Dolby Digital Surround (French and Spanish), with subtitles in English and Spanish.
Ice Age: The Meltdown is back! This time the DVD release includes a disc of bonus extras over and above the features listed on the back of the box. These new materials include: Meet The Modeler (learn how to create a model of Sid’s head), Scrat: From Head To Toe (a drawing tutorial), two featurettes (Breaking Story and News Report), Hot Is Cold / Cold Is Hot (a scavenger hunt and environmental trivia game), Migration Adventure and Whack-A-Possum. The Ice Age: The Meltdown is presented in either 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen or 4x3 1.33: Fullscreen. Both versions offer audio tracks in 5.1 Dolby Surround (English) and Dolby Surround (Spanish and French), with subtitle in English and Spanish.
