Like Honey’s mom, a young chess player’s father has big dreams for his son that are often at odds with the boy’s aspirations in Searching for Bobby Fisher. Making a seemingly simple difference in one life, a fire-scarred recluse reluctantly befriends a young boy from an abusive home in A Man Without a Face. Caught up in the destructive cycle of drugs and alcohol, a young mother and her children are sent to live with a distant uncle who gives her a new lease on life in Down in the Delta.
