The accomplished female cast members in this movie have all starred as leading ladies in other films. Look for Claire Danes as an abused girlfriend in The Rainmaker, Glenn Close as a mail-order-bride in Sarah Plain and Tall and Vanessa Redgrave in a tragic love triangle in the musical Camelot. Meryl Streep stole the show as a hellish employer in The Devil Wears Prada.

Evening comes to DVD with two featurettes in its shadow: One Weekend By The Sea: Remembering Evening, and Adapting Evening. The disc also offers a peek at some deleted scenes. Audio tracks are in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround (English), with subtitles in English, French and Spanish.
