In Peaceful Warrior, a former gymnast named Dan Millman (played by Scott Mechlowicz), who now writes and presents motivational seminars, recounts his experience with an unusually wise and somewhat mysterious acquaintance that helped him find peace when his dreams of athlete glory were shattered. The movies Pursuit of Happyness and The Terminal also tell of the trials and triumphs of people who find themselves homeless and penniless.
