Mr. Holland’s Opus is one of the best-known teaching movies involving a music instructor. To Sir, With Love, Stand and Deliver, and Remember the Titans are other fine films featuring educators. Also, the elderly man playing Pierre Morhange at the start of The Chorus is Jacques Perrin, the mastermind behind the incredible, Academy Award nominated, French documentary Winged Migration in 2003.

If The Chorus (Les Choristes) never came to your hometown during its limited theatrical run, you may want to track it down on DVD. Although the disc boasts no extra features, this French film has plenty to sing about.
