Most of the creative team behind The Band Wagon were also responsible for the 1960 musical Bells are Ringing. Fred Astaire can be seen dancing on the ceiling in A Royal Wedding, and Cyd Charisse plays a bonnie Scottish lass in Brigadoon.

DVD Release date: March 15, 2005 The Band Wagon rolls onto DVD in a Two Disc Special Edition sporting a new digital transfer from restored picture and audio elements. Liza Minnelli, the daughter of the director, and performer Michael Feinstein (who hosted and produced the PBS Special: The Great American Songbook), kindly provide a commentary track. The second disc features a new making-of documentary (Get Aboard! The Band Wagon), as well as a vintage documentary (The Men Who Made the Movies: Vincente Minnelli). Other bonus items include an outtake musical number (Two Faced Woman), some dailies, a musical short (Jack Buchanan with the Glee Quartet) and a Fred Astaire trailer gallery. The re-mastered sound track is available in English (Dolby Digital 5.1 and 1.0) and French (Dolby Digital 1.0), with subtitles in English, Spanish and French.
