Robin William’s character in this film is a recreation of Fagin from the classic Dicken’s tale, Oliver Twist. (Oliver! is a musical version of his story.) After meeting aboard a cruise ship, two passengers fall in love and decide to reunite in New York—but a disastrous accident interferes with their meeting in An Affair to Remember.
